The National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) recently made the biggest changes to its election process in more than 60 years. These changes pose significant challenges for employers. Please join attorneys William Bowser and Scott Holt, from Young, Conaway, Stargatt and Taylor on September 17, 2015 for an informative workshop.  This workshop will be from 3:00 pm until 5:00 pm followed by networking and Hors D’Oeuvres at the Clarion Hotel – The Belle located at 1612 N Dupont Hwy, New Castle, DE 19720.

The new Labor Board election rules demonstrate and reinforce the need to have an effective labor/human relations strategy in place to ensure that employees are engaged, productive and involved. The new quickie election rules significantly change the legal and practical steps you must take to respond to labor relations challenges.

Workshop Objective:  You will learn about the new Labor Board elections rules, and how to develop a comprehensive labor relations strategy to meet these challenges.

Overview:  Bill and Scott will cover the implications of the new rule and steps employers can take now to prepare for these changes. Key topics to be addressed include:

    • Comprehensive update of the changes in the Labor Board Election Rules
    • Comprehensive knowledge of the employee relations challenges that typically lead to discontent and labor relations challenges
    • Overview of effective proactive labor relations strategies/programs
    • Critical steps to take immediately if faced with union organizing efforts
    • Detailed guidance on assessing and identifying particular areas of labor relations risk

This workshop is pending SHRM and HR Certification Institute certification credits

Cost:  As an added benefit to our Delaware SHRM Chapter members and DelMarVa SHRM Chapter members, the SHRM Delaware State Council will subsidize the members’ registration and the members’ cost will be $15.

Non-Delaware chapter members cost is $65 and includes chapter membership for remainder of 2015.
