About Us

Delaware State Council serves more than 800 human resource professionals who are members of SHRM and/or local and student affiliate chapters in the State of Delaware. Made up of volunteer leaders, the Council works to:

    • Promote education and professional development through SHRM services and programs
    • Provide training opportunities for chapter and council volunteer leaders
    • Act as a link between national SHRM and local and student affiliate chapters
    • Serve the needs of SHRM members-at-large, i.e. members who have not joined a local affiliate chapter, and
    • Provide an entry point for human resource professionals who are new to Delaware.

Our mission is to promote and advance the human resource profession throughout Delaware. The Council is a member of the Northeast Regional Council, one of the five regional councils in the United States. To learn more about the mission, vision and positions in SHRM State Councils, click here.

We encourage all SHRM members to join a local chapter to enhance your networking connections, expand your professional development opportunities and earn credits for SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR/SPHR/GPHR recertification.
